EmpowerMEnt Policy team

The EmpowerMEnt Policy Team is the driving force behind advocating for meaningful changes that impact youth in care. Comprised of passionate and dedicated individuals—including youth advocates, regional coordinators, and founding members—this team works to ensure that the voices of those with lived experience are heard at every level of policy-making.

The Policy Team focuses on:

• Shaping and influencing policies that improve outcomes for youth in care.

• Providing trainings and resources to educate youth about their rights and responsibilities.

• Collaborating with legislators, community partners, and stakeholders to drive systemic change.

With a mission rooted in the belief that "Nothing about us, without us," the Policy Team strives to create a better future by addressing issues like extending Medicaid, stable school experiences, youth rights in court, and fostering permanent, caring relationships.
